We had a play date today with a few mommies I've recently met. You were the youngest there. You did really well, just observed your new surroundings and played with toys. You kept pulling on the girls jackets and you for mad at me for holding you back lol. Should I be worried??

First day sitting on the stroller facing forward. You were so excited to see everything. Even though you were so tired, you weren't fussy because suddenly there's so much to see. Mommy had a moment watching you sit facing forward. You're growing up too fast *tear*

Mommy did a little photoshoot of you today at our house. Look how cute this picture is! Omygoodness. This picture makes me smile everytime. YOU make me smile everytime :) happy first Christmas baby. We love you.

You caught a cold a few days ago. It was your very first cold. You started off coughing then 2 days later, you had the runny nose. You were so congested :( I wish there was something I could do. I'm sure you're not feeling well and don't understand why. Thanks God you're feeling better today. Mommy just wants to hold you and make you feel all better. 

Took you shopping at Valleyfair mall today. You were going through all the shoes mommy picked out. I'm sure you had one in mind huh? :) I used to carry you in an ergo when I took you out but I think you're starting to get too big for it. Not physically big but you seem too interested in the outside world to be confined. You're always looking around and stretching your body to get out. So mommy just carries you .. But you're getting so heavy! 17 pounds 10 ounces! Mommy has arms of steel :D

(Catch up season - Aug 2013). We went to the Monterey bay aquarium today. Did you like all the fishes? I know you're too young to understand but I'm sure you were amazed at all the colors! We got an annual pass so you'll be seeing these fishes more soon! 

(Catch up session - Aug 2013) Aunt Jess and uncle Joshie came to visit today. We did a little photoshoot hehe. I think you had fun. They love you so much!

We ended up cooking and watched a movie. You let Uncle Joshie hold you for a long time and actually fell asleep!

You started sitting up on your own 2 weeks ago. What a big boy! Sometimes you fall back though but you don't cry. I think it just shocks you and you look over at me with his "I've fallen down!" look :) 

Ummmm found you sleeping like this during your nap. You're hilarious!!! 

Poor baby has a fever today -- of over 100! You got your part 2 of flu shot earlier today. This is the second fever you've had, first one was at 2mo. You were burning up :( but you weren't fussy but I knew you didn't feel well. I'm feeding you now and praying your fever goes down.

Ending this post on a positive note - you rolled from your tummy to your back today for the first time and I got it on video! Mommys so proud of you.

We did the CIO (cry it out) method with you a few  days ago. We've been rocking you for every nap and at night ever since you were born and I think you got used to it. Grandpa and grandma came over last week to take care of you and suggested to let you cry :( you cried for 18 min straight :( it was such a heartbreaking experience .. But it wasn't easy to just pick you up since grandpa and grandma was there (alot of pressure!). You eventually fell asleep and I've been letting you sleep like that for every nap and every night since. You've only cried twice and only for less than 5 min. What a good boy. You're learning so quick! I didn't mind rocking you though. I loved having you so close and having you sleep in my arms. I want to cherish these moments since you won't want to be next to mommy like this when you're older.

I forgot to mention about 2 months ago, I fed you zuchinni and you threw up alot :( alot. I fed you zucchini and then you had a full milk meal and you vomited in bed - projectile vomit. After we picked you up, you threw up a few more times :( it was so heartbreaking to see you throw up everything you had in your little tummy. When you were able to throw up, you whimper a little too. You were telling me - mommy I don't feel good :(

Speaking of not feeling good, you had constipation a few days ago. You didn't poo for a few days so mommy gave you some prunes. The first day, it still hurt you. You were pushing and mommy was trying to help you. You pushed and cried at the same time :( mommy felt so helpless. After a few days of prunes, your bowel movement is finally a little better. Eating solids suck huh? 

It's so funny, when you can't suck out anymore milk, you started hitting my breast like "more more!". So cute :)

You are super attached to me .. You scream every time someone else holds you and you see me. People say that's a bad thing because I don't get any work done, the not getting any work done is true, but I love that you prefer me, that you want mommy. Mommy loves you alot too! 

Catch up session

So since I haven't blogged for the past 6mo, I have to catch you up on everything that's happened!

Lets see -- first few weeks were so stressful. On top of the usual zombie schedule of you waking up every 2 hours to feed, you also had jaundice. We had to bring you to the hospital everyday for the first week to get blood drawn and it was SO painful for me to watch you get pricked every day. Why would they want to do that a few days old baby?? You cried so much every time. You didn't understand pain, that was your first time feeling it. :( You didn't actually get over our jaundice until past 3mo. Mommy had breastmilk jaundice, which prolonged the jaundice even longer. I had to feed you formula for a week straight so get your jaundice level down. We had to give you sun almost everyday. It worried mommy and daddy since we didn't understand why it wasn't going down. 

Oh and you've stopped taking the bottle. You're so picky! You were taking the bottle for a while, then only allowed Grandpa (Daddy's dad) to feed you, then all of a sudden, you completely refused it. I went to work for 7 hours one day and you starved yourself! You have a nice collection of 6 different bottles and nipples, all of which you reject. 

Speaking of work, I quit my job. I went back to work for 2 weeks and they came back to me and said I couldn't work from home while taking care of you. Originally they said I could. We had this program called ROWE which allowed us to work anywhere and anytime we wanted. I ROWE'd alot when you were still in my tummy. So they asked me to get a babysitter. Your Daddy's parents said they're too old to take fare of you and mommys parents live too far away. And Daddy has always wanted you to have the stay at home mom experience ... so there you have it. You have mommys attention 100% all day every day .. And I wouldn't want to have it any other way. I love all my time with you.

You love taking baths. You cried the very first time but none for the rest. Even when you have water dropping down your face, you're perfectly fine and even smile when you see me looking at you. Watch the videos. They're super cute :)

You've recently started to roll over, only to your right side though. That's your preference. You can also sit on your own now, when you lean forward. 

There are alot of things that make you smile, like when I sing to you, when I make sounds with my lips, looking at the mirror, when I make sounds on your stomach, when I kiss your neck and inner thigh, and best of all, when I just smile at you. 

You've also started to bite my chin. I think you're teething, but instead of hewing on the teething toys, you find joy rubbing youth gums against my chin haha. So cute. You do this while pulling on my hair. Not so fun haha. 

Till this day (6mo), you still need to be rocked to sleep. Probably our fault, but we can't stand letting you cry. You won't be little forever and before we know it, you won't want to be rocked and held, so I'll enjoy this a little bit more.

You love it when we read books to you. Even the longer ones, you'll sit through. Mommy and Daddy read to you everyday, avg about 5 books/day. We will continue this and hope you'll enjoy reading books when you're older.

First time sleeping in your own bed in your own room, door closed. Sigh. My heart is so broken .. 

Hi again!

It's been a while since I've written. I haven't forgotten about you! It's quite the opposite - I'm so busy with you! But I love it and I wouldn't have it any other way. You see, i decided I wanted to stop writing after your birth since it was so time consuming but as you started hitting your milestones and as I go through interesting times, I can't seem to get this journal thing off my mind. Its great to write about it (get it off my chest) and i also id also like to ve reminded of these times when you get older. So I'm back at it.

What provoked me to start writing tonight? Well .. you're going to start sleeping in your own room tomorrow and it makes me so sad I'm tearing up now. I don't even know why I'm so emotional about it. Every mother goes through this right? I don't know. Ever since you were in existence, you've always been in me or next to me. Now we have to be separated by a wall and two closed doors. I worry that you'll be cold or too hot and I won't be able to just turn around and see. I worry you'd be scared. I worry you'd look for me and I wouldn't want you to have any sort if lonely feelings because mommy is always here! <3. You've been waking up and turning to your side. I think it's because you know I lay to the left of you. When you sleep in your own bed, you won't be able to do that anymore. But Mommy will look at the monitor all the time to make sure you're ok. Mommy loves you very much.

You hate getting burped, I mean hate! You get super fussy everytime you're out on someone's shoulder and you start wiggling and sticking out your butt. You also make alot of noises and try to turn your head around (you have a really strong neck for your age!). Here's a burping picture with Daddy ❤

Your first time taking a bath. You did so well! Apparently you like your hair being washed, but not your body. Towards the end of the bath, you stopped crying. I think you'll eventually like baths. Don't you feel so clean afterwards? You poo'ed as soon as we wrapped you in a towel. Guess you got a little too excited :) here's  Grandpa holding you :)

Your playard is right next to our bed. Here's daddy sleeping on my side of the bed, with his hand on you while mommy gets ready for bed. Daddy loves you so much! He always says "who's so cute?". :)

At your first doctors appointment. We had to strip you down to just your diapers. Luckily, we bought a blanket to wrap you in. You're so snuggled up here! :)

It ends at 2:30am, that's when we went to the hospital. I was so excited to meet you!!
